Every now and again, I look at America and think "Holy crap, that is a broken country."

And then I chat to an American, and realise that they're proud to be broken. They resent any implication that being broken isn't the best way to be.

I could say more (and in fact did, but have gone back and deleted it) but you've heard it all before. Inspired by this article.

When I was watching The Hangover, I kept looking at Alan (the bearded character) and thinking "He's an American Bill Bailey. He really is Bill Bailey, but American."

I just checked out his Wikipedia page, and discovered that "he is well known for his unconventional stand-up style, featuring many one-liners and the use of a piano in his performances."

Holy crap. Someone cloned Bill Bailey and raised him in America.
